Handcrafted ink made from the berries of the Elder tree Sambucus canadensis, also known as Saúco, Xúmetl, Tlsolos-ché and Seriyo.
Elderberry is a deciduous, perennial tree native to tropical and temperate regions around the world, including Africa, the Caribbean and the Americas. It often grows in wooded areas and along streams, rivers and marshes. Elderberry is an important food source for Native Americans consumed in the form of tea, syrup, jam and wine.
Though not edible, this ink contains all the magical abilities of this powerful plant! Ink is a safe non-toxic art material for creators of all ages. It serves as an ethical alternative to synthetic pigments and can be activated in painting, calligraphy and mixed media art. Allow your imagination to wander! Create an abstract masterpiece or a "Happy Birthday" card for a loved one.
Paint brush included. Every batch of ink is tested on watercolor paper. Color and consistency may vary from purple to reddish brown. If kept stored in a cool dark place out of direct sunlight, it will last for 1-2 years.

INGREDIENTS: Elderberries, White Vinegar, Gum Arabic, Lavender Essential Oil, Water, Salt
DIRECTIONS: Shake bottle well before use. If painting, dip a paint brush in the ink and apply to watercolor paper. To increase the opacity, add more water. If writing, use a quill pen or dipping pen.
